Overlooking the village square of Aldbourne, opposite the duck pond, the " Crown at Aldbourne" is first recorded as early as the 16th entury, although the present building is thought to be Georgian.Local historians believe that the Crown was once a small coaching Inn on the turnpike road from Cirencester to Hungerford.
