Things to see and do, places to eat in Walton Manor

The Lighthouse

Shoryu ( Dining / Other ). Located at 134 The Westgate, Oxford, 1 mile from the center of Walton Manor. Just like Shoryu Ramen, Oxford combines modern lifestyle with rich heritage, the perfect recipe for our second venture outside London. Shoryu Oxford brings authentic Hakata tonkotsu ramen to Oxford City Centre’s Westgate Shopping Centre feeding hungry shoppers. www.shoryuramen.com Link

Coconut Tree ( Dining / Other ). Located at 76 St Clements Street, Oxford, 2 miles from the center of Walton Manor. We want to give everyone a taste of Sri Lankan family hospitality, with an authentic affordable menu delivering delicious dishes and fantastic flavours combined with fun Cocotails and a relaxed island vibe. www.thecoconut-tree.com Link

Ashmolean Dining Room ( Dining / Other ). The Ashmolean’s Rooftop Restaurant sits, as its name suggests, right on top of the world’s oldest museum. Floor to ceiling glass windows open out onto a large terrace – perfect for alfresco drinks and dining when the weather allows – affording terrific views of the picturesque spires of Oxford. Afternoon tea is a speciality, often themed to tie-in with whatever exhibition is showing. www.benugo.com Link

Gardeners Arms ( Dining / Pubs / Bars ). Located at 39 Plantation Road, Oxford, 1 mile from the center of Walton Manor. While the pub itself has been around for over 200 years, we started the Gardeners kitchen in 2003 with the intention of serving quality vegetarian food that was appealing to both vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike. Our thinking was that it would be a relief for vegetarians and the dining companions to be able to eat somewhere that provided guaranteed meat free vegetarian and vegan food. www.thegarden-oxford.co.uk Link

Isis Farmhouse ( Dining / Pubs / Bars ). Amazing live music with international artists, local bands and a show-stopping live jazz performance with free admission every Sunday between 7pm and 10pm: playing a mixture of swing, Gypsy Jazz and great songs from the golden era. www.theisisfarmhouse.co.uk Link

The Fishes ( Dining / Other ). Only a couple of minutes from either the Botley Road or the southbound A34, The Fishes is a hidden gem. Quite a big gem, too. The Fishes is an imposing Victorian building set in 3 acres of wooded grounds leading down to the banks of Seacourt Stream. On sunny days the gardens are dotted with picnickers, enjoying a picnic basket ordered from the bar, whilst the deck that wraps around the conservatory offers one of the few opportunities in land-locked Oxford to dine outside with an idyllic view. In recognition of this, the Fishes was named Al Fresco Dining Pub of the Year in 2006, as well as winning an award for its Sunday roast. www.fishesoxford.co.uk Link
