The Garden Room is a bed & breakfast located in Peaslake.
The Garden Room is a comfortable self-contained B&B annexe next to our house where we have welcomed hundreds of guest since 2002. Many have returned again and again and a number have become treasured friends.
Situated in a quiet private road in the rural village of Peaslake we are surrounded by beautiful wooded countryside that is ideally suited to a range of pastimes from energetic off-road cycling, orienteering and serious hiking to more gentle activities like bird watching or just a gentle amble through hundreds of acres of woodland that is a joy to visit in any season.
In addition the the nearby historic town of Guildford and the many pretty rural vilages, pubs and restaurants within easy reach, other local attractions include National Trust properties, The Hannah Pescher Sculpture Garden at Walliswood, Box Hill (NT) and Denbies Winery at Dorking and the RHS Gardens at Wisley. The beautiful tree clad hills of Surrey are perfect for walking, riding or cycling and are a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty offering some of the best scenery in the country.
Our house called 'Coltsfoot' is situated in Crest Hill, a private cul-de sac exactly one mile from the village centre with its church, village store, country inn and village hall. Peaslake Village Stores does a great range in hot and cold drinks, cakes and snacks. There is also a busy bike shop that serves the needs of the many mountain bikers who visit to ride in the nearby Hurtwood forest. Cycles are available to hire. Pedal & Spoke
Although in the heart of the countryside Peaslake is only 8 miles from the centre of Guildford with its extensive shopping, leisure and cultural facilities.
We are also within easy reach of both Heathrow and Gatwick airports, the M25 and central London.
Trains from nearby Gomshall station connect with both Guildford and Dorking from which there are frequent and fast services into London making a day’s sightseeing a possibility.
Just a mile or so away the picturesque and historic villages of Albury, Gomshall and Shere sit beside the babbling Tillingbourne river, which, with it's many watermills in times gone by contributed to the area’s prosperity from wool, iron and even gunpowder with occasional disastrous consequences.
Local dining options close to The Garden Room include The Hurtwood Inn, Drakes On The Pond, Gomshall Mill, and The Abinger Hatch.
