Incredibly disappointed by the reception we got from the owner at this B&B. Really felt very unwelcome and uncomfortable. Was concerned at the booking but we booked for a friends wedding and it was a good location for us. When confirmed booking got a very cold reception and was told we could only book in after 5.30 as she wasn't home until then. We arrived at 5.39 to find no one answering door. The self catering is run by the daughter in law and she came out to find us. Helped us find the B&B owner who then greeted us by saying that we were late and she had been waiting for us!! Despite the fact on line its says check in is after 3pm (other places it says 4pm).
The B&B isn't signed posted at all and sat nav sends you down the wrong way out of the village. She showed us to the room, didn't offer any help with luggage. In room first thing she told us was to under no circumstances leave the tv on stand by, and the fire exits. Nothing about breakfast, didn't offer us milk for tea or anything for our two children.
We felt so uncomfortable in the place. We were lucky as other wedding guests we staying in the Self Catering (which is great and run by a different lady who seemed lovely and the self catering was great and fab views to be recommended).
When I popped over to collect my husbands shirt from our room to iron in the self catering (we were too scared to ask to borrow the iron!) - I was told off for a tiny speck of mud on the bathroom floor. This B&B's car park is also a farm yard!!!!
We went left we tried to pay by card but were told that we couldn't as 'she would need to pay tax on it!'. Luckily we had other methods but nothing is said about paying cash or cheque anywhere else. We were also told we needed to check out by 9.30 as she was going out - says 10 on the website. We also choose to have breakfast elsewhere as we felt so very uncomfortable. DO NOT STAY at the B&B under any circumstances never met such an awful owner. Go for the SELF CATERING instead.
