It is sited on the river Onny 5 miles to the north-west of Ludlow, and has a railway station on the Shrewsbury and Hereford Railway. The parish also includes the hamlet of Walton, whilst the actual village of Onibury stands in its own parish extended sometime in the 1960 to include parts from clungunford it is sited close to the boundaries of Stokesay and Stanton Lacy parishes.
