Teigh Old Rectory
Teigh, Rutland
Teigh Old Rectory is a bed & breakfast located in Teigh.
The Old Rectory is a family house, bought in 1973, and improved and modernised over the years. It is in a hamlet, with only a church, but there are 2 good pubs within 3 miles. It is quiet and peaceful but easily accessible from the A1 (10 minutes) or from Oakham or Melton Mowbray. Rutland Water is 4 miles away, for cycling and walking, and Stamford with Burghley House are handy for a visit, plus Belton House, Belvoir Castle, Rockingham Castle & Kirby Hall, which are all well worth exploring.
The other attraction to the Old Rectory, is that the BBC used it as a location in their 1995 adaption of Pride and Prejudice. It was Mr. Collins' rectory, with Belton House as Lady Catherine de Bourgh's home.
