Places to stay in Howick, Northumberland

Howick is a village in Northumberland, between Boulmer and Craster. It is just inland from the North Sea, into which Howick burn flows, from Howick Hall. The pronunciation of the name of the village varies among the inhabitants, interestingly, depending on social class; the aristocrats in the Hall do indeed use 'Hoh-wick', which is probably the more correct, but the villagers invariably use 'how-ick'. Neither would ever use 'hoik', which is the Scottish town spelled Hawick. Local dining options include The Cottage Inn, The Masons Arms Country Inn & Restaurant, The Ship Inn, and The Treehouse At The Alnwick Garden.

The center of Howick ( which is at is longitude -1°36'2.6496 and latitude 55°27'11.203 ) is located 4 miles away from Embleton, 5 miles away from Alnmouth, 5 miles away from Bilton and 5 miles away from Alnwick.
