The Royal part of the name was added in 1866 after a visit from the Prince of Wales, later Edward VII.

With 31 unique bedrooms, the Kings Room Restaurant, Bertie's Bistro and Bar there is plenty to explore within the hotel, along with the rich historical past which has seen visits from no less than 7 Kings and Queens.
