It gave its name to the largest of the four chief collieries of the Kent coalfield. In 1931 the parish had a population of 55. On 1 April 1935 the parish was abolished and merged with Northbourne. St Crispin Inn ( Dining / Pubs / Bars ). The St Crispin Inn is a 15th century traditional pub which also offers quiet en suite B&B accommodation with free WiFi internet access.
