Places to stay in Holt End, Hampshire

Holt End is a hamlet in the large civil parish of Bentworth in Hampshire. Its nearest town is Alton, which lies approximately 4 miles north-east from the hamlet. Its nearest train station was formerly the Bentworth and Lasham railway station on the Basingstoke and Alton Light Railway, until its closure in 1932. But due to the closure of the Bentworth and Lasham railway station, the nearest railway station is now 3. 6 miles east of the village, at Alton. The original meaning for the name 'Holt End' must have been an end of a road or a dead end. The theory is provable because even today Jennie Green Lane has a dead end to it. Holt End was once one of the crossing points between Bentworth and Ropley. Local restaurants include The Star Inn, The Yew Tree, The Saffron, and The Galley Restaurant At Audleys Wood Hotel.

The center of Holt End ( which is at is longitude -1°3'25.531 and latitude 51°8'56.792 ) is located 2 miles away from Medstead, 4 miles away from Alton, 5 miles away from Ellisfield and 6 miles away from Neatham.
