We stayed here for 1 night, initially i was impressed, yes the room was a little pokey and the bed was only a double, howver it was relativley clean. Te location is great and the sun was shining so it was lovely.
We knew the owner ran cider making courses and asked if he had any to drink. He said he did but would have to charge us for "tea" on the bill instead as he doesnt have a licence. The cider is reccommended.
Breakfast - quality produce was used, however the portion was stingy, the menu points out that you are only allowed 1 egg, you only got 1 mushroom cut into quarters and half a tomato. Instead of the 2 sausgaes that the menu offered I asked for more eggs, Glen went to the effort of saying "so that will be 2 eggs then".2 eggs are a little cheaper than 2 sausages! He only brought one slice of toast per person and when we asked for more it took him over 5 mins to bring another slice.
My main issue occured after we left. When I got home i realised that we had left some underwear items in a draw, I rang Glen the next day and his first response was "I'll throw them away shall I" Errm no, they were expensive items that added up to around £100! I asked him if he would post them and obtain proof of postage, he said he would. He checked my address and we said goodbye.
Today I have received an email of the postage recipet along with a credit card charge for the postage costs. As he had charged my credit card that was REQUIRED to confirm the booking he had also added his credit card payment fee to it! So Glen though it was appropriate to charge my credit card over 48 hours after we had left, without even asking me. I would have expected him to contact me and say it cost £xx, how would you like to pay?
This B&B owner therefore keeps peoples credit card details and abuses his customers trust.
Alarm bells should have rung when i spotted a book in the room that said "If you remove this book from the room you will be charged £25!)
Not reccommended at all
Positives: The Cider
Negatives: Untrust worthy owner
