Teignmouth, aptly described as the Jewel of Devon, is a characterful seaside town and one of few that still has its traditional Victorian pier. The pedestrianised, level town centre has an interesting variety of shops, restaurants and patisseries. Enjoy a stroll along the promenade and admire the well-maintained Victorian facades. Local restaurants include Perrylicious Coffee And Cake Rooms, Clifford Arms, The Coffee Rush, and Naz Indian Cuisine.

Follow the promenade to the east, from which the distinctive iron-oxide rich red rocks rise up to form the steep cliffs, and you will be walking alongside the route of Isambard Kingdom Brunel's Atmospheric railway. The quaint and cosy village of Shaldon lies to the west and can be reached either via the bridge or via the historic Teign pedestrian ferry.

The center of Teignmouth ( which is at is longitude -3°29'50.388 and latitude 50°32'46.665 ) is located 1 mile away from Shaldon, 3 miles away from Dawlish, 5 miles away from Babbacombe and 5 miles away from Newton Abbot.
