While we enjoy an idyllic rural location at the foot of the fells we are only 5 miles from the M6 (38) and therefore very easy to locate.

Our location between the Lake District and Yorkshire dales national parks makes Tranna Hill a superb base from which to explore both the lakes and dales. The settle to Carlisle railway is a 5 minute drive away. Alternatively there are amenities on our door step that can be enjoyed without using your car – Smardale Gill Nature reserve, the Howgills Fells, fishing, golfing and cycling.
