Moat Vale Camping & Caravan Site is a campsite located in Carlisle.

We are a small rural caravan and camp site 3 miles from the border village of Longtown and handy for Carlisle and Gretna Green. The site is on a ten acre smallholding within the mixed woodland and pastured farmland of Netherby Estate. Although we are on flat ground, in a few miles you meet the remote, undulating moorlands of the Scottish Borders from where the mountains of the Northern Lake District and Galloway Hills are visible on the skyline. We only take a maximum of six units, so are generally pretty tranquil. Being a simple wee site you can’t expect all the facilities of the bigger tourist sites but we do a have a well kept toilet block and free hot shower. There is also a solar powered washing up shed, a barbeque area, a games area and a campfire area (bring your own wood). Do have a look at the “About Us” page on our website for some photos of the site and the surrounding area. We are approximately 7 miles from Junction 45 of the M6, and 3 miles from the A7.
