Such is the character of our hotel that Queen Victoria and her family stayed here when she travelled from London to Scotland for her annual summer holidays - there's even a tunnel that she used here to avoid walking with the commoners!
Hotel restaurant closed on Sunday evenings. The restaurant is also closed for lunch & dinner on bank holidays. Limited cold food is available from the bar.

The hotel was OK but definitely not worth the money we spent on it the room had a strange unpleasant smell in it that would not go away. The whole hotel had s somewhat rough around the edges look to it definitely an economy hotel.
Positives: The location to downtown Gettysburg was good.
Negatives: Bad smell in the room.

The hotel is conveniently located and while lacking an in-house restaurant is co-located with a chain restaurant next door. A free continental breakfast is provided daily. The hotel is clean and well-kept although my guest room had a persistent, but not unpleasant, odor of cleaning products. My only complaint was the quality of the bath towels which were thin and rough to the touch. All in all, the hotel meets or exceeds expectations for a facility in this price class.

This was the cleanest hotel I have stayed in ever. The bed was very comfortable with plenty of blankets and pillows that didn't reek of bleach. The room was clean and quiet and the climate control unit worked like new with no annoying noises.
Positives: Really & truly non smoking.
Negatives: Scratchy towels.

The hotel was clean and functional and did not have any negative surprises. I was surprised to see a housekeepers tip envelope on the night stand. The room was reasonably priced. I was unable to take advantage of the free breakfast in the morning because I had to leave each day before it was setup. A free USA Today newspaper was available as well as coffee ant tea in the room and lobby. I have stayed at Days Inn properties before and usually can count on a basic clean room.
Positives: It was clean, functional, and didn't have any negative surprises.
Negatives: I was on a business trip and I needed a bigger desk to work.

Hotel was clean and bright. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Check-in/out was a breeze. Free breakfast had most everything you could want.
Positives: Staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Continental breakfast was great.
Negatives: Room had older carpets and could use a thorough vacuuming under bed.

The room was clean and roomy. However, it was supposed to have two queen beds and they were the smallest queen beds I have ever seen.
Positives: I liked having the microwave and refrigerator in the room.
Negatives: I do not think the beds were queen size.

Overall, it was good value for the price. Gettysburg is easy to get around in, so there is no need to be right 'down town' - a nice place for a family or anyone.

We rented two rooms and requested that they be near each other as we had a 16 and 12 year old sons in a separate room. We were on the 2nd floor and another on the first floor. The room on the second floor only had an issue with the water from the faucet, it smelled. The room on the first floor which was nearest to the outdoor pool exit also had the smelly water problem and was near the noise. The only good thing about this hotel was the fact that the free continental breakfast included self-made waffles, along with all of the normal foods.
Positives: I liked the free continental breakfast which was more than the usual.
Negatives: The water from the faucets smelled and so did one of the rooms we rented.

A nice affordable hotel, good free breakfast, they make your own waffles, area was great. Kids loved the heated outdoor pool.

Days Inn Gettysburg was a very clean, friendly place to spend some time away. This was strictly an R & R vacation. Nice pool, where I spent most of my day and continental breakfast was a nice plus. We would definitely go to this hotel again.

We were very pleased with the room we finally ended up with after discovering our original room's air conditioning was malfunctioning. (We checked in at 11:30 a.m., spent the day sightseeing, only to return to a very warm room at 7:00 p.m.) Staff was very helpful in correcting malfunctioning room card-keys, recommending great local restaurants, etc. We would definitely return - willing to put up with minor annoyances when staff is so friendly and helpful!

Negatives: Air conditioning was not working necessitating room change; decision to make room change took some pressuring on our part.

I had to change rooms after a few hours in the room because there were bugs crawling on the wall near the bathroom sink; my room was changed but I had a restless night.

Very nice accommodations for a Days Inn. It was the best Days Inn that we have ever stayed in. Staff was extremely friendly.

One of three hotels in a cluster, obviously an older hotel that could use some freshening up. If you are booking a last minute trip and need a place to sleep, then its okay. If booking in advance stay at a B&B for the same price. Basically a motel with a mediocre breakfast.

This is a great days inn. It was very clean and the sheets and carpet were very new and seemed fresh. The continental breakfast was simple but good. The coffee was adequate. Any traveler would enjoy this hotel.
Positives: The amenities and room quality were on par with hotel of righter star ranking.
Negatives: The hotel clerk refused or declined to ask the manager if we could stay an extra night at the same rate.

The hotel staff was wonderful and the room was in excellent condition. The continental breakfast was very crowded but after all it was free. The group using the conference center was very noisy and crowded the hallway which was right outside the room. I overheard the staff trying to corral them but the noise was really loud early in the morning. Access to the hotel is good and there are restaurants right next to the property. Overall it was a good experience but the crowded hall was definitely a down mark.
