Places to stay in Stapleford, Cambridgeshire

Stapleford is a village located approximately four miles to the south of Cambridge, in the county of Cambridgeshire, in eastern England. Stapleford is first mentioned in 956 when it was given the Latinised name of Stapelforda, formerly Stapleton. Unlike most parishes the spelling has hardly changed since then. The parish, however, was inhabited long before this. Wandlebury Ring, which lies within the parish boundary, is an Iron Age hill fort, originally built in the 3rd century BC, but rebuilt with a double bank in the 1st century AD. It is also known that the grandmother on Barack Obama's mothers side is buried in the cemetery here. Places to eat in the region include Manor Pizza And Balti House, Zara Indian Cuisine, Forum House Chinese Restaurant, and Shelford Delicatessen.

The center of Stapleford ( which is at is longitude 0°10'2.5870 and latitude 52°9'3.1075 ) is located 4 miles away from Cambridge, 6 miles away from Ickleton, 8 miles away from Girton and 10 miles away from Carlton.
