Apothecary's House

Askrigg, North Yorkshire

Apothecary's House is a guest house located in Askrigg. The house is centrally located in the village, just below Skeldale House, the surgery of the vet, James Herriot, in the well-known TV series "All Creatures Great and Small". It is so named because it was originally built in 1756 by the local apothecary, Dr. James Lightfoot, though it was re-modelled around 1850 in a Georgian style.
